CASA SETARO was founded in Trecase, the smallest Vesuvian town within Vesuvius National Park, established in 2004 and now celebrating 20 years. Rooted in the passion passed from Vincenzo to his son Massimo, the estate follows strict agronomic practices, working under certif ied organic principles with a focus on sustainability, aiming for healthy, ripe grapes, minimal environmental impact. The winery, beneath the family home, benef its f rom volcanic rock formed during Vesuvius’ last eruption, ensuring naturally stable temperature, humidity for vinification. Vineyards cover 18 hectares of volcanic soils—sand, lapilli, effusive rock—varying with altitude. Pre-phylloxera, ungrafted vines are propagated traditionally, trained in Guyot.Only indigenous varieties are grown: Caprettone, Piedirosso, Aglianico, Falanghina, Greco, Fiano. Harvest follows each variety’s natural ripening, with careful selection, separate vinif ication. Deeply tied to Neapolitan culture, wines such as Caprettone, “Per’ e Palummo”, “Lacryma Christi” reflect the identity of Vesuvius—“His Majesty”—an enduring symbol of the land
